Missile Silo - Vent Shafts
The three vent shafts around the main silo have been
fitted with "bug screens" that will help keep the
shaft sump clean and free from leaves, trash and insects. Also, each
shaft has electrical power run via
conduit through the shaft wall. This circuit powers the sump pumps
that have been installed in the intake
and exhaust shaft sumps. It also powers a light pole that has been
installed at the original location on the
west side of the silo cap next to the fill-and-vent shaft.
